The 12th World Transport Forum took place in Leipzig on 23 May. More than 1000 transport politicians, scientists and representatives of logistics companies discussed, among other things, how city and country can be better connected.
Meanwhile, Deutsche Bahn presented "Noah's Train" at Leipzig Central Station - the train, designed by Street Art artists, tours through Europe as an ambassador for ecological transport.
The longest mobile artwork arrived on Wednesday for a stopover on platform 18 at Leipzig Central Station. The train, named after the biblical Noah's Ark, is used by the Rail Freight Forward coalition and its members, Europe's freight railways, to promote the shift of more traffic to rail. Ladybirds, kingfishers, frogs, but also big animals like tigers, crocodiles and bears can be seen on the containers of the 400-metre-long freight train designed by Street Art artists.
The train could not only be visited in Leipzig, some pupils of the city had the opportunity to spray a container themselves together with artists.
Another great event aiming to shift MORE freight to rail!
